frequently asked questions

Q: WHAT MAKES YOUR WORK DIFFERENT FROM OTHER PHOTOGRAPHERS’ WORK?

A: As a fine art hybrid photographer, who shoots both film and digital, I strive to capture a clean, airy look and will use natural lighting as often as possible. I love taking all of my photos in intimate, relaxed settings where you can be candid & have fun in front of the camera!

Q: DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS OR SESSIONS?

A: You bet I do! I love to travel, near and far, and am always seeking out new places, new friends and new adventures! My passport is up-to-date, too! My cameras are equally as enthusiastic about traveling for work and it seems they have a bit of wanderlust built into them!

Q: HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS WILL BE AT OUR WEDDING?

A: Great question! Unless it is an elopement or a special case, I always recommend having another photographer present to help ensure I can give you different perspectives from your beautiful day. Having another photographer is always a good plan, especially since I can’t be in two places at once!

Q: ARE THE COUPLES ON YOUR SITE MODELS?

A: While I occasionally team up with local vendors and models to do inspirational shoots, most of the sessions featured here are of actual, gorgeous couples I have had the privilege of photographing in the past!

Q: HOW DO WE RESERVE OUR DATE?

A: Please send me an email at info@mckenziesmithphotography.com or fill out the contact form through my site and I can give you more information on this! Once I hear from you, I can send along an informational packet that gives more details about my shooting style and pricing.

Q: DO I HAVE TO ORDER PRINTS & PRODUCTS THROUGH YOU?

A: I highly recommend ordering prints through my professional lab, but it is not required. The difference in quality is HUGE when it comes to ordering through a local printer and a professional lab, so I strongly encourage clients to let me help with print products and other orders, such as large canvases. I’ll even send you examples!

Q: WHEN WILL WE GET OUR WEDDING PHOTOS?

A: As soon as humanely possible! Haha! I take on a limited number of weddings each year; one of the reasons is so that I can give each of my couples an exceptional experience. The actual turnaround time depends on a number of different factors including the size of your wedding, how many details you include in your wedding and film processing times. Typically, I deliver the entire wedding gallery in a few weeks.
